You are a true inspiration☺ and I also know where you're coming from. I've been an athlete since the age of 5..that is doing ballet and contemporary dancing I was also a long distance athlete, a sprinter and running hurdles. In my athletic world I've always been my own worst enemy as I was constantly in competition with myself and I never failed in anything if I put my heart and soul into it....when I reached my 20's I became a bodybuilder and did a few competitions I also competed in my 1st and last Powerlifting competition and came first in my category. I put so much pressure on myself when it comes to dieting and exercise. I'm now 52 years old and I still haven't changed....still tracking calories as well as training routines. My physique at my age I think is pretty good but MAN do us woman battle to just loose 5kg..who of you out there agrees with me....Menopause is a bitch...I just want your point of view Natacha and your expertise in this field as all of your info is science based which I love...OK here goes: I weigh 65 kg and I'm 5ft 1 inches...I'm pretty active....I do a 45min run in the afternoon to burn my calories I've consumed during the morning and then a 45 min GVT at night....that's an absolute killer...from your science based point of view I burn about 198cal for a 45 min run and 450 calories for my GVT workout.....why is this! Surely you burn more calories running? My home chores I burn around 1 200 calories ....that's cleaning for like 5 hours straight...🙈I use MyFitnessPal app to calculate my calories in and calories out According to the app I have to consume 1500 calories per day I only consume around 800/1000 calories and my training adds up to 1900/2030 so I'm always in a calorie deficit but I'm really struggling to loose my last 4kg's.please I need your expertise on this....another thing that boggles my mind with the app I'm using...if I set it to MapMyWalk I loose fewer calories than if I set it to MapMyFitness....so I just use the latter for all my workouts...sorry this is a mouthful but you're the one I look up to and trust that you will be able to advise me....I truly love your energy☺💜

There is something I do, when I look at my skin for exemple I tend to look for a spot, redness or whatever and feel bad. I force myself to look at the part that is fine and there is like way more of it. So the tip would be to find balance and force yourself to see something you like, hair, nose.. sometimes you can even look at a feature that you dont like but think at someone that has the same and that you love, this way it can make you feel good. (Same nose as your mom, big forhead like Rihanna...) Hope it can be useful ^^

Over the quarantine I lost 15kg by working out and eating clean and controlled, and I’m super happy with my progress. But I’m now stuck with counting calories and Im scared that if I stop doing that, im gonna start gaining. I am very bad at intuitive eating because I used to have binge eating problems and this counting thing is now like a safe place. So I dont know what to do.
4 måneder sidenSuperDadsBaby
@abra cadabra thank you for your comment. Its getting better and better. You know When you are alone its super easy as you only buy and eat measured “healthy food”. So I Went for 2 week family vacation. you can imagine There was a lot of delicious and not so healthy food that I had no control over. But instead of getting food separately for myself or stressing, I decided to just eat like everyone else but control the amounts - without a scale. I treated myself. And it felt amazing. I tried to listened to my body, if I was truly hungry or it was just cravings / binging. And i think it worked. scale/clothes showed exactly the same (im at -17 in total now). So as you said, everything is possible, it just needs time and practice
2 måneder sidenabra cadabra
How you doing now ? Sometimes I find you have to practice a lot for it to become "intuitive" and it's more about habits. Walking isn't intuitive we learn to walk, fall... and then we just knew and didn't have to think about it anymore..

Excepting compliments is a big one. I didn't even realise how much I deflected a compliment until I started dating my current partner. His response to compliments is usually... "I know" HA. I tried to adopt his tactic then I settled into a humble thank you. Does wonders to the self image!

I have dyslexia and for years I have said “ohh I have dyslexia I am not good at English” but i am!! I am sooo creative I may spell the words wrong but my writing is at the top of my class. A teacher once told us, as a class - and, many times as individuals- that if someone compliments you, the proper response is "Thank you." You don't have to make up a return compliment, and, you never argue with them. My comment was going to be about the bit before compliments, though. Two things - Dr. Ornish really emphasizes that quickly changing eating habits often works better than doing it more slowly. I think if you are making drastic changes, but, you know how to cook - or, won't have to - that is probably true. And, it goes along with another idea, which I often employ, whether it is what to buy when there is not enough money to buy everything needed or what to study or what to change, or, whatever. Which is the idea that you examine what is wanted and needed, determine which things are most important for overall impact, and, then you do the most possible that will have the biggest impact. IE: Changing the way you are eating and drinking to be healthier - not eating too late, eating better combined foods, eating more veggies, eating more raw fruits and veggies, or anything like that - is likely to help you to sleep better, which will help you exercise better, which will then help you sleep better while improving your digestion, while you are eating better, which will give you more energy to exercise, which will cause you to follow circadian rhythms better, which will give you better sleep and to breathe better, which will help you burn more fat. So, at the beginning we have the most important thing to change- eating. It's also one of the largest things to change, since most people do it every day and a lot of money goes into it and it affects many aspects of your social life. And, at the end, we have the easiest thing to do, to breathe better, maybe even while purposely relaxing or sleeping. Which could be deep breathing exercise and/or purposeful breathing in more natural environments (opening a window to let air in) or getting an ionizer or other air cleaning device, using a neti pot or saline solution ... so many variables are possible to change that constitute eating better and breathing better. But, those are two of the most important things to change to change everything else, from the way you feel about you to the way your boss and family feel about you, to the way you look, to how you are doing financially. \

I’m so grateful that I’ve found your channel. Lately I’ve been struggling a lot with binge eating and my body image in general. And recently I’ve decided to change my life, my eating habits, my mindset about food, sports, everything. And yet I have some small results, and watching your videos is so inspiring cause what you say feels so right and it gives strength to love yourself more, to treat yourself better, to not depend on food or the number on your scales. So, all in all, just thank you for what you’re doing❤️
