Hey everyone! 🤗 I feel like gut health has become a pretty sexy topic with lots of products claiming to promote it and lots of ideas on how to take care of it, so I wanted to know exactly what leading scientists can really say with confidence and what’s still a big question mark where all we have is theory ❤️

But of course my girl Natacha has my back with her science-based videos yay!! Here in 2021!

I've actually went gluten-free recently, and before that I have removed spices from my food because I was getting a lot of bloating and intense stomach pain due to that. It's an important topic that it's not talked about, I am currently still learning about my gut. This video was very helpful and it came at the right time for me

There is so much more research now and products. Probiotics require prebiotics and both of those require phytobiotics and flavonoids to thrive and flourish. I take a specialized Gut-Brain Axis formula that has a combination of all 4: prebiotic, probiotics, phytobiotics and flavonoid. My mood, sleep and weight is so much better 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Awesome Review 🌟🌟🌟🌟

I know gluten-free has become a fad and I'm pretty sure I'm not Celiac (I don't think, anyway), but when I cut out gluten during a semester for a health class I was taking, I found out that I'm not ADD. I used to get lost in Wal-Mart because I'd forget what I was there for, and then turn the wrong direction trying to drive home! We're talking above average IQ but acting like a moron because I could never focus or think straight. How I managed to be a decent student, I will never know. But I have noticed since that I can get away with small amounts sometimes, but not always. Melba toasts seem to really mess me up. But anyway... it seems some people have mental/chemical issues with gluten that isn't celiac?

I love love love how scientific you are! Such a breath of fresh air to see someone who actually basic claims of peer reviewed articles. Could you do a video on things like SIBO and leaky gut? I'm curious on your thoughts. It was fascinating what you said about side effects of gluten free diets and I know you touched base on the fact that there are some people with dietary restrictions that actually don't allow them to eat certain foods (at least thats what the most recent science thinks). I actually go to a naturopathic/functional medicine MD and have done the tests0 which showed a presence of SIBO, Leaky gut, and other food allergies. Anyways, I'm curious about what scientific info you find on these and your own thoughts on the low FODmap dieting culture. Thanks

I'm 16 and I really struggle with bloating and my self image of it. It doesn't help that I see all these people on social media with flat stomachs. I wonder "do they bloat like me too? Do I just have a big gut or just the way my abs are set? Is it because I have larger ribs?" I wonder if they eat healthy or if they don't eat enough and that's how they have flat stomachs. I'm trying things like eating healthier and having more healthy carbs or calories and having more vegetables in my diet. I'm trying out intuitive eating and intermittent fasting because they both have better effects than other diets. It's hard though because I'm worried that I won't be able to get enough energy since I'm a very active athlete as well. It's hard to stick to these "diets" because I'm at home and I end up eating out of boredom. Im diagnosed with anxiety so maybe the reason why this so hard is because I'm stressed all the time which can cause bloating. I'm also gassy and I don't know why. If anyone sees this I have a few questions: 1) how do I diet and eat healthy foods while making sure I'm getting enough in my body and enough energy since I'm an athlete? I'm worried that if I don't eat as much I won't be getting enough energy. 2) what does a natural flat stomach look like? Are all the flat stomachs we see on social media technically natural? Do naturally flat stomachs have a little bit of bloat? What level of tummy thats visible is considered normal? I'm just wondering if maybe this is how my true un bloated stomach looks like and it's just my genetics. 3) how do I figure out which foods are harder for me to digest? 4) I've been drinking more water each day in hopes that it'll help with my digestion and bloating. I've heard of water bloat as a result of being so dehydrated that your body holds on to it. I'm wondering, how long does it take for that water bloat to go away and your body starts to absorb it at a consistent rate? If you have any more tips on if I should be taking supplements or protein or anything that I should know, it'll help.

For Years I thought I was unfortunate enough to store extra fat in my belly area. My stomach stuck out like a basketball ... 3 weeks ago, I changed my diet to lean proteins, and was drinking 64 ounces of water per day. Two weeks into it, my stomach went almost flat! I didn’t lose weight - it was like someone deflated the basketball in my stomach. Obviously the food I was eating and drinking all of these years was bloating my stomach making me “fat.” Friends and family noticed the difference right away. It’s amazing how changing my diet and flushing my body with water made all the difference!

I had to stop eating gluten 8 years ago due to diagnosed ulcerative colitis. My doctor told me if I wanted to reduce the risk of colon cancer and losing my colon in the long term then I needed to remove gluten from my diet. Wheat causes lots of severe symptoms for me (and also certain winter squashes like spaghetti squash 😭) so cutting it out made a massive difference for me and allows me to naturally manage my disease without medication. Although many many people do not need a gluten-free diet I really appreciated the trend because it brought so much awareness for people who actually need it. Eating that way got so much easier once people knew about it

I am constantly bloated. Constantly. As soon as I start drinking water in the morning, I instantly swell and look 6-month pregnant for the rest of the day. It simply never goes away, ever. I need to tuck my tummy in at all times. I tried all possible diets, and consulted specialists, had blood tests, various treatments, and even an MRI - to no avail. Absolutely nothing works, my bloating issue is a mystery. And when I try to look for a reason or a solution online, all I find is about losing weight, which is NOT what I'm talking about. I don't drink alcohol, don't eat much processed food, don't have a sweet tooth and never use salt. And yet here I am now, endlessly browsing the internet only to find the same old, commonplace explanations.

My quality of life was terrible because of digestion issues when I ate a diet with a ton of vegetables, fiber, fruits, nuts. I feel 'normal', as in calm after eating and able to socialize because I am not in pain, having almost no fiber, and a diet of: red meat, raw fat, aged cheese, A2 yogurt milk and cream, and minimal amounts of potatoes and orange juice. Literally nothing else. Been doing this about 1.5 years. Quality of life is not even comparable.

@jana hrn I guess it's basically low fodmap indeed. I went to a dietician in the hospital that told me about all kinds of food that might cause irritation. Things like nuts, dried fruits, kiwi, spicy food to name some. After a few months, if your guts are, hopefully, better, you can slowly try bringing back some of them, one at a time. Till now I only still have problems with leek and white onion. But that's fine 😉

Hi everyone, just want to say something real quick ! It has been like 4 years that I can not eat any vegetables or things with fiber because my body just react really bad to them (cramps, bloating, gas, constipation, etc.). But I discover the Beano pills two weeks ago and since I took them, it just change my life (no more gas, no more constipation, still a little bit bloating but don't feel any pain). You can found those pills on Amazon and some stores. It was really important for me to wrote this, because honestly, I'm just so happy that I can finaly eat vegetables after all those years, and I want to make sure that everybody who are in the situation I was before can finaly, like me, eat everything he wants again 😊 Take care ✌🏻

Important point! The connection between grains and heart health are not proven. This was an arbitrary connection made in the 50’s backed by the American Heart Association which is funded by grain companies. Studies have been held to try to prove whether this claim is true and it couldn’t be proven. Grains do not support heart health.
