That's why I believe in Cal deficit all the way. It's better too coz u can still be flexible about it (many ppl like myself live with my fam and budget issues and dietary restrictions) plus lose weight. Intuitive eating iswhat i aspire to inculcate but only once i have reached my goal weight. I have a lot to lose and i m doing it slowly 😅 but steadily 🤔. If u want to lose weight just eat cal low voluminous foods and whole foods in bulk and move your body. If you are at a healthy weight it's the best way to maintain that and that's what I would be doing. 🙄👍❤️

I hope you can answer this question for me please??? I have learned after trying a few different eating styles (keto, paleo, vegetarian) that it is best to just make healthy choices and eat when I’m hungry or need fuel. That being said, I have been doing a strength and interval training program for more than a month. At first I lost about 1 kilo a week. But now going Into a third week of my weight staying exactly the same. I did lose 4 inches around my waist but now inch loss has stalled as well. I only eat twice a day on a normal day because that is as much as I get hungry. A normal meal would be 1 cup brown rice or two slices wheat bread with some type of meat protein and a vegetable. Sometimes my second meal is just a smoothie but most often it is a meal like the first. What am I doing wrong that my fat loss has stalled?

I was sick for about a week and during that time I was sad I couldn't gym and cook my healthy meals. I had to order restaurant foods and they were pretty unhealthy foods. So, I kind of decided to turn it into a cheat week. No training no clean eating no portion control. Lol. One week of reckless eating isn't enough to sabotage 6 months of hard work and clean eating, is it? I'm trying not to think about it too much though. It's the end of the week. I should return to my normal healthy lifestyle but I'm scared I won't be able to either. Any advice, please?

I'll probably get alot of hate but Natacha you are amazing. I've been doing intermittent fasting since Dec 2019. I've struggled ALOT with weight loss my entire life. I lost 40 pounds since then. I feel much better on low carbs. Keto didn't suit me. I came here from Coach Greg who also doesn't advocate intermittent fasting but I've been following his advice on slowly picking up and increasing cardio. Pls do make videos on intermittent fasting; it also heals up your metabolism not to mention the other health benefits. Sett

What are your thoughts on weight watchers? I’ve lost 40 pounds using it but now am unfortunately having trouble not binge eating because I felt so restricted. I’m quite athletic but have recently began to struggle with my weight due to being diagnosed with PCOS, was told to avoid eating any carbs or fats; been totally miserable. Do you have any advice? I was 198 lbs & am now 160 lbs (22 years of age); my goal is to get to around 130 & just overall have a healthier relationship with food.

I lost 10kg a year ago, wanted to lose like 15 but just couldn't do it anymore because of all of the cravings. Today i gained it all back and 1kg more. Its hard to think that i suffered months for nothing. Looking for more sustainable and healthy solution. I tried intuitively eating 9 months ago a bit but still overate a lot ( maybe i still felt guilty for eating certain food so it lead to binging ). I know weight doesn't define you but I'm overweight and I'm closer to obesity than normal weight which scares me. I used to weight 15 kg less at 18 and I'm 21. I hit puberty early so I had my "adult" body. I did start taking the pill which might have not helped. I wish i didn't diet at 18 when I was perfectly normal...

This is why I'm not 'dieting' in the traditional sense. I've just changed my calorie intake to what I want to eat for the rest of my life (with some exceptions sometimes of course), and my weight will follow that and find a balance with it. Whatever weight I end up with when it finds that balance, is what I'll be happy with. I try to stick around 1500kcal a day, with some fluctuations for special occasions, and I feel full, satisfied and find that that I feel the need to binge and eat fastfood less and less.

I don't think it is impossible. The body wants to be in a healthy, sustainable weight range. In your case, even if that range was elevated because of time spent in overweight range, the body probably still wants to lose some of that weight to become healthier. So focus on eating healthy. I would recommend you check Dani Spies on youtube. If you adopt a healthy nutrition plan & some exercise and don't rush it as this video says, ı think you will be succesful.

Hi Natacha, I really love this video, I've struggled for a long time with body image and restrictive eating habits and I found this really informative and helpful. If it was possible, I think it would be amazing if you were able to do a video on how to undo the damage that dieting can do. How to restore the correct levels of leptin and grelin, as well as restore the metabolism. Essentially it would be a video on how to get your body out of that kind of starvation mode that dieting can induce. Thank you, I really love your channel!!

Okay so here is my history: I'm bisexual... and bulimic. Although both things don't seem related, they are. My family is very conservative and homophobic. When I discovered myself years ago I started a journey of punishing myself, even though I didn't feel bad for being bisexual, I was always fearing everything, feeling anxious for everything and not eating anything. I went through therapy and jumped from anorexic to bulimic to orthorexic to bulimic and so on. My parents think that therapy sessions don't work, but the reality is now I know why I just can't eat as a normal person or love myself like a sane person. It's because I just don't fit in my family. I've always felt unloved since I was a child because my mother always controlled me. So I started controlling the only thing I would be able to: food. Well, I'm still battling my Eating disorder, but every time I'm at home I get worse and worse. I just can't get rid of diuretics. I just can't stop counting calories. I'm always panicking. It's not just your fault you can't maintain a good relationship with food. You have to look around. Look how you grew up. Stay safe. Keep your quarantine going on.

Logically, I know it’s stupid but if you hear a lie enough times, you start to believe it. The message that my body isn’t enough is Everywhere. 😭 I just want to not think about food or my body in a negative way and just be casual about it, eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full. I just keep going between eating super super ‘clean’ and just having junk food as all my ‘meals’. Same thing with exercise. I fuxking hate society. 😭😭😭

Thank you for this! I have always been very obsessive over calories and have been eating less & starving myself since I got more conscious about my body image. I developed Body Dysmorphia because of criticisms about my body. After I started, I stuck with starving myself and eating less than 700 calories partnered with working out 3 times a day for a 3-4 weeks. After that my body just said NO and I started bingeing and overeating which’s continued for 2-3 months. I wasn’t aware that I already developed binge eating disorder. During that time also started feeling extremely guilty and started bingeing & purging which is something I’m unfortunately still fighting through with today. I’m now starting recovery & not forcing myself to workout. I am also not starving myself anymore, though there are days where I still binge and purge. Moral of the story: Don’t restrict and starve yourself. Don’t force yourself to exercise. Don’t obsess over calories, and don’t force yourself in a diet. I have developed Bulimia because of it, and it is worse than you think. Slow is better in the long run! It’s okay to treat yourself, but keep it in moderation. Stay strong & keep going!

They do it to the point that it is dangerous. Most diets won't rlly have you going below 1200 in a day but an anorexic might eat under 500 almost every day. Also keep in mind that their metabolism DOES end up slowing wayyyyy down. Plus the symptoms like losing hair, cold all the time, death, etc.

I feel like I never ever ever stop thinking about food I literally hardly think of anything else even when I have “treats” I never was like this like yeah I would crave certain things and have them in 3 days and never think of it again wish I could be like that I want my normal mindset of “not thinking about food until hungry” kind of mindset

I just found your channel a couple days ago and I love it, you speak the science in such an easy and understandable way. At the end of last year I was having a bad relationship with food and I’ve been working on it, I’m getting so much better so finding your channel is extremely helpful. Keep up the good work and thank you so much!
